Having this book made my twelve-year-old son's trip to Walt Disney World an over the top positive experience. Being a tweenage boy, he was concerned that Disney had a lot for girls and younger children. However, the Hidden Mickeys turned out to be something that was right up his alley, and this book proved to be a helpful resource to him in finding them.Before purchasing this book, we had simply considered getting a Hidden Mickey app. We figured that if we were already going to carry a device through the parks, adding an app wouldn't increase the bulk or the weight in our backpacks. (This was one of our concerns about purchasing a book.) We decided against an app, however, in large part due to the fact that our devices tend to be battery hogs; once a device goes down, an app would no longer be usable. So, we settled on a book. (It turns out that this book fit into our backpacks ok, and my son didn't much mind carrying it around the parks with him. Oftentimes, he simply carried it in his hands.)Aside from not needing a battery, this book also provided my son with the opportunity to make notes next to each Hidden Mickey that he found. He oftentimes simply made a check mark and noted the date. (The margins provided ample space for such notes.) As my son carried this book around (everywhere), its distinctive cover stood out to Disney Cast Members, so that many of them engaged him with, "Oh, are you looking for Hidden Mickeys? Did you see the one over here?"As a field guide, this book often led us right up to the Hidden Mickeys. There were a few (in the challenge section, "My Favorite Hidden Mickeys") that did prove a little too difficult for us to find. In the end, my son went back through his notes and counted up over 180 Hidden Mickeys that he did find. Many of these were so "hidden" that we would not have even known that they existed, except through the information given to us in this book.
Hidden Mickey's are a super fun way to pass the time as you wait in lines or just stroll the park! The book provides two ways to find them so you can either use the more vague clues and play the game or, you can use the descriptions giving the exact locations! It's fun for all ages and our kids love it every time we go! Love that it continues to get upgraded to reflect the constantly changing WDW landscape too! Can't wait for the next edition!
This book has made my trip so interesting. My whole family usually loves big thrill rides but 2 of my kids needed a tamer schedule this visit. We spent a lot of time on the fun activities and searching for hidden Mickeys. The one on the wall in Boma gave us a run for our money - we actually had to Google an image for an extra clue! Next time we plan a trip I will invest in the ebook, too. This was a rainy visit and my book needed to stay in a ziploc a lot. I also kept my phone in a ziploc, but the touch screen works through the plastic so the ebook would have been much easier to use.

Some are hard to find. And some vague at best. It was a lot of fun looking for the hidden Mickey's. If this is you first or only time going to WDW, don't worry about them. Enjoy you time and the rides. However, if you go to WDW often, these are great fun.
My daughter & I hit the ground running for her 1st trip to Disney in January (2017) and had a blast searching for hidden Mickeys while we were in lines for rides!! Sometimes they were really tough to find and the book didn't help at all, but overall, I'm happy I had it with me to entertain us during some of the longer waits that we had!
It was ok, I don't think I'm going to be into this as much as some people are. It pretty much tells you where they ALL are, which defeats them being "hidden".
