Purchased as a birthday gift for my niece. She read them very swiftly enjoying them very much. They will be added to her collection of Warriors books, re-read and shelved.

A nice box set of graphic novels that enhanced our child's interest in the series.

My daughter who is 9, is addicted to these books. She is ADHD, so having her find a book series she will sit and read thrills me. She is usually into the computer, tv, or video games. It makes my heart proud when she tells me she is going to read her books :) She begged me for this set, and I was so excited to find this series. It was the only things she has been asking for in the series.

I'm proud but slightly embarrassed to say that I'm an adult Warriors fan! Love these books and love that Graystripe!!

My daughter is 11 and loves these books. Warning, your child may become obsessed by them like my daughter. I fear she's going to grow up to be a crazy cat lady living alone in an apartment with ten cats. What can you do?I don't get it. It's cat drama with a lot of fighting. Cats couldn't be this interesting if they could speak. The writing is terrible.She likes it, so we buy it.

Purchased for my daughters birthday--she is a Warrior Cat fan. When she opened this, she gasped and said-I'm reading this first no matter what ever book you bought! And she read this whole series in one day. The only bad thing about this is that as a gift it didnt last long, but I guess that was her choice to finish so quickly.

So, this is my 10 year old daughter, and she loves Warriors! This Manga Box set, she watched me order, and these came today! These books are the first thing she asked me about when she came through the door after school. She's devouring them right now. She will love all 3! They are awesome stories with fierce characters!

My granddaughter loves the Warrior Cats book series. She has the first four box sets, and several of the Special Editions. I would recommend this series for any younger reader, and I have heard they are actually good for older readers, as well.

About the Author

Humphrey Burton was a friend and professional colleague of Leonard Bernstein for thirty years. He read music and history at Cambridge University and joined the BBC in 1955, becoming its first head of music and arts programs a decade later, and in 1978 founding and hosting the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition. He retired from management at the age of 50 and has since worked freelance as an impresario and prize-winning director of filmed operas, concerts, and documentaries in Europe and the USA In Los Angeles he was guest director of the Hollywood Bowl and at Tanglewood, Massachusetts he produced Bernstein’s elaborate “70th Birthday Bash”. He directed almost two hundred music films with Bernstein: this unrivaled closeness made him the ideal choice as biographer. Burton lives in Suffolk in 2001.

I've admired Bernstein since watching his t.v. shows as a kid. I'd long been fascinated by him, and couldn't wait to read this book when it got such good reviews. Bernstein's accomplishments, personality, character, and flaws all fairly pop from the page in the skilled and compassionate hands of the author. What a service he has done in revealing the true Leonard Bernstein, warts and all. He's not quite the hero I had admired, but I gained immeasurable new respect for his abilities, his genius, his caring and compassion, his humanity. We can't really expect such outlandish genius to follow all the regular rules--that much is clear. That doesn't require turning a blind eye to his sexual peccadilos (many), but it does help to explain his abberations (and no one forced his partners to succumb to his charm and influence). What a terrible shame that he didn't control his smoking, which finally killed him, even after his wife died of lung cancer and it had to be clear he was headed the same way. Dead at 72, he could have given so much more to us had he but taken care of himself sensibly. Quelle waste.

It took me about 2 months to finish reading it, not because it wasn't a page-turner, but because it was a long book and also I'd been busy. It was actually a great page-turner. I could read on and on for 5-7 hours without a break.Bernstein's personal letters to his friends and colleagues, including Aaron Copland, his thesis at Harvard, etc. were all very inspiring to read. There were quite a bit of poems he wrote also. The positive and negative sides of the great man were also well delivered without getting vulgar.I really appreciated the author's knowledge about music and the classical music world and system.The book makes you feel like you're living the life closely with the great man and gets you intellectually, musically, emotionally involved. You experience with him every success and failure Bernstein went through.His talents were beyond human in some way, yet he was a man just like you and me. Sometimes his talents were greater than he as a man, and as a result the world occasionally saw him fall apart. The book is honest about his failures and misbehaviours without being accusatory. It makes you want to forgive the man for the wrongs he'd done. The burden he was carrying as genius was more than an ordinary man could bear.The book also covers the Jewish culture, politics, world events, how Bernstein and his genius contributed to the world and American history, etc. in relations to his achievements.There are enough interviews with his friends and family, reviews on Bernstein's works, letters etc. but the author uses his own narratives to tell us about the man, which is, I think, why this book is more solid and readable. Only, I wish there were more photographs. But oh well, you can't ask for everything.Great, inspiring book. I might read it again.

I devoured this book! Classical music is slowly fading into obscurity, partly because we no longer have a Leonard Bernstein. He was the very face of classical music in America. This book captures Bernstein in all his glory.

Well worth the time to read.

Verify that you are getting the full-book with online access because the PAPERBACK version does not provide the online access. Also the paperback book does not provide any color pictures or color charts, EVERYTHING is in black & white, so if you are a visual learner, you may want to pay the extra money for the Hardcover book to ensure color pages and online access to the Davis site. I just had to place another order for the hardcover since the paperback is lacking so much.

I needed this book for my nursing program. I rented on amazon and I saved a lot of money. It's a pretty good book just like all the other nursing books. OB is not really for me so I am just trying to pass the class. The chapter summary and the quizzes at the end of the chapters definitely helped me on the tests in class. If your nursing program uses this book , I think you should rent it from amazon!

I loved this book. I came into nursing to become an L&D nurse. This book is such an easy read with great charts and its very explanatory when it comes to difficult concepts. The "critical components" within the chapters are very helpful and were def concepts our teacher used on the exams. Overall my favorite book in nursing. It wasn't a crazy bulky book like my med surg book and it was user friendly! Good luck nursing students!

Book is written in outline format which is great for some but not myself since I like to read and make my own outlines. The questions at the end of each chapter were helpful, I just wished that whoever had the book before me didn’t highlight all of the answers! Next time I rent a textbook, I will be sure to make sure there aren’t too many highlighted text or answers.

Pay the extra money for the hardcover version. I bought the paper back version because it was not well advertised that the paperback was not in color. The whole book just looks like it's photo copied.

You will not necessarily get a product that is okay to resale or sale in the US. Mine had this disclaimer:"International Paper-back Edn, Same as per description, **Economy edition, May have been printed in Asia with cover stating Not for sale in US. "

If your class required this book. Get it! It's easy to read and understand. Its not that thick. Renting from Amazon is the best and most affordable way to rent textbook.

Love how detailed the book is. Wish the book would put the clinical manifestations in its own section for easy accessibility.
