If you don't know who Jenny Mollen is you're missing out- granted I've never read her first book and I didn't know she existed until about six months ago when I stumbled upon her page on Instagram- I love this book!She's the only person brave (or crazy) enough to write down what we all think in our heads. Her humor and view of life is along the lines of Chelsea Handler, Lena Dunham, or even Jim Gaffigan- it's bold, honest, and totally relatable. No, I don't own a Birkin (or have a fake bag guy lol) and I definitely could have used a nanny/nurse for my first and second child but despite the lifestyle and celebrity status that most of us aren't privy to she's still Sid's mom and Jason's wife and totally winging it like the rest of us. If you aren't then you're either a) lying or b) you came out of the womb Benjamin Button style and were probably doing your parent's taxes at the age of three and you wouldn't appreciate the honesty in this book.It's easy to read, covers a variety of life's ups and downs, and made me laugh out loud so often my husband banished me from the couch while reading it because I was disturbing his game. Is it an instant literary classic with copious amounts of symbolism, syntax, and the answers to all of life's great mysteries? No, but is it hysterical and a great break to read while I'm nursing my newborn and my toddler is drawing on every surface possible with a black crayon- yes!If you're a mom or about to be a mom I'd add this to the short list and get ready to laugh.

Jenny Mollen is hilarious! I saw her initially on Chelsea Handler's various shows with her husband, Jason Biggs. I never been a huge fan of him, but when I saw them interviewed together I thought they were just so funny and adorable together, so I started following them on Instagram and purchased Jenny's book. I didn't read her first book, but I'll definitely go back and read it now. She is such a down to earth celebrity and says everything moms and wives wish they'd say!

This book is laugh out loud funny, and it is so well written. I love books written by female comedians but in general the stories are so good but the writing is subpar, not in this case! Jenny outdid herself, and she gained me as a instagram follower, and purchaser of all her books. I took it on a solo trip to California with me, and carried everywhere I went just sitting on the beach laughing to myself, looking insane in the process, it was well worth it.

I couldn't stop laughing the whole time I was reading this book. Not to mention the fact that Jenny's writing is very well structured and she made it very easy to connect with her as an author. Maybe I just felt that way because I'm crazy and she might be too, either way this is a must read!

I have read both of Jenny Mollen's books and have enjoyed them both very much. I love reading books written by real people, telling real stories. And, if I can laugh while I'm at it, it's a bonus. She really just says what all of us women feel, but mostly sound ridiculous if we say it out loud. Thank you for sharing your stories.

Jenny Mollen is a hilarious, irreverent American treasure. She says what we're all thinking but it comes out 10 times funnier. She writes like a friend telling you a story, the kind that makes you listen so intently for what happens next that you forget to eat your lunch. I laughed and laughed and even cried a little. Read the book. You'll like it. Unless you're particularly conservative; then you'll probably think she's the devil and be scandalized forever.

I love crazy funny people, and Jenny is definitely one of them.If you're looking into light entertainment, easy enjoyable read, this book will make you laugh out load. Also, I find this book to be brutally honest, an honesty that allows you to step back and watch the current culture, the obsessions, the figuring out what is this thing called 'life' and finding the meaning to our existence through clever tweets on twitter. only to come to a full circle that your full potential, based on Jenny, is by having a baby, like in the old days, the man will go and do farming thingy things and the woman will have babies. In conclusion, I guess this book will make you laugh all the way to a cry, which is not easy to do, I have much respect ✊

This was a great read - a quick read, bc you don't want to put it down. Jenny's so relatable to moms. Her writing style is great - she's sharp, very funny, super realistic...she says/writes what most people really think but might not have the guts to say out loud. I loved her book, and I loved how you can feel just how much she loves her son and how important being a "good mom" is to her. If what she's writing is true, I'd say she's a great mom and she's going to give her little guy a wonderful childhood full of fun memories.

The bad reviews are true. I was excited to read this book so I paid the high price. But it doesn't have USEFUL information. It takes the author 30 pages to outline how to write a lesson the way we were taught in school (if you were taught the Madeline Hunter way).I bought this book because I stumbled across a chart of ranking effects of influences on student achievement. The list is just a list. I hoped the book would expand on what each item on the list fully meant and gave examples. In the most boring way, the author tells you what to do BUT not how to go about it. Most of it is common sense.I've gathered two excellent tips:1. Learn more about SOLO taxonomy2. Learn more about National Board Certification (apparently, going through their PD program AND becoming certified will ensure that you're using some of the influences with the greatest impact.)You can find the list of 150 influences for free anywhere but the top 10 and their explanations can be found here: http://visible-learning.org/glossary/

This book is an excellent summary of much research. It is not for casual reading, but it's an excellent resource.

This book has become the foundation for all of the work I do. I serve as a Special Education administrator and now reference this as we look to trying new strategies, providing professional learning for teachers, and prioritizing time for different things (e.g. test prep vs. progress monitoring). It's a regular reference for me. The only con is that it's not available on Kindle yet so I can't have it with me everywhere I go!

If an educator was only planning to buy three new books this year, this most certainly should be one of those purchased. Hattie presents overwhelming research in layman's terms which provide insightful and practical findings which have the potential to greatly influence classroom climate and culture. I ordered this one week before I'd have to go in and take the CSET Multiple Subjects exam. I planned to take all three parts on the same day and I had no preparation going in except for this book. Obviously I could not utilize as much of it in that time as I would have liked. But what I did read was actually on the test, and had I not picked up this book I can definitely say I would have failed the exam. There were sections about linguistic terminology that, frankly, I wasn't even aware of until I read this book's chapter about it. The history section is also a good refresher if you've forgotten a lot of what you might have learned a long time ago and need a quick rundown centered around what will probably be on the test. And sure enough, the parts that I read about were included as essay questions in the actual exam. Perhaps I was just lucky, but at the very least I can say that in hindsight studying from this book did not feel like a waste of time at all. Would recommend this.

Best investment! Once I complete my tests, I will still use this book as a great resource tool for the classroom. The book is packed with Fifth Grade information as well as other grade levels. I am super happy with this book!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So many times I have taken and failed the cset. I have so many other books so I thought I would try this one out. I passed. Is it the book? Maybe. But if I knew this last year when I started taking these tests I would have just gotten this book. It’s laid out well, has many items it goes over, has quizzes, helps you with essays. But I’m gonna be honest, the edsays they give you in the book are nowhere near the essays on the actual test. I’ve been asked so many random questions, you really need to read everything.

Don't waste your money on anything else. I bought other guides and ended up throwing them away- I know I should have returned them.This guide is fantastic. It is so comprehensive and has so many samples tests. The only improvement that I would suggest is that there are sections of the guide that do not have enough detail on terms and concepts that are mentioned, in the context of general topics. I ended up doing a lot of individual research to make my studies more robust.In retrospect, I could not have passed my CSET tests without this guide. I'm so grateful to the people who rated this product, which helped me decide to buy it.

This book helped me pass subset 1 and 3, but i felt very unprepared for subset 2.

This has helped me sooooo much! It truly has prepared me to take the CSET and I feel super confident! Do not take any of the expensive courses they offer at colleges just buy this book and you are set to go!

I heard about this book in one of my preservice classes, and without it, I would not have been able to pass my tests! I love how they have explanations for all of the answers and different versions of practice tests. I tried many online sites first, but this was by far the most helpful resource I used.

I passed all three CSETs in one go! I used this book and every online practice test I could find. I found that the examples in this book were pretty similar to what was actually on the CSET.
